Green means go!

September 30, 2021

We are excited to announce that Watermark Residences has been granted unanimous approval by Sydney North Planning Panel for the development of a new clubhouse and seniors living apartments. That means we are now able to move forward to the construction phase, which we expect will begin early next year.

Watermark Residences will comprise 106 luxurious two and three-bedroom seniors’ apartments, all with fabulous views over the golf course and undulating valley. Located next to the stunning Lane Cove River Valley, future residents will be perfectly positioned to enjoy the beautiful views and natural environment.

Every apartment will be serviced by solar energy, meaning residents won’t pay any electricity bills for their apartments. Sustainable water storage will be featured throughout, and consideration is being given to electric vehicles for residents to share.

“More and more, retirees are looking for sustainable features when considering downsizing,” said Watermark Director Enzo Marchione. “They are not just thinking of themselves – although one of the benefits here are no electricity bills – they are thinking about their children and grand-children’s futures, and we’re proud to facilitate that”.

There will be plenty of outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy, with the entire existing green space of the golf course being maintained. This will be cleverly achieved by building on top of the car park.

As wellness is integral to daily life at Watermark Residences, there are a variety of facilities and services in the new clubhouse available to all Watermark Residences residents. There’s a hydrotherapy pool, a seniors’ specific gym, group exercise rooms and a range of individualised services to help keep residents active and vital.

“Wellness is embedded in our DNA,” said Watermark Director Dr Chris Watt. “The daily wellbeing of our senior residents is given deep consideration at every stage of the design process, so we can deliver amenities and services that help them to age well”.

Additional plans include a newly designed golf course, with a premium 12-hole layout with flexibility to provide an 18-hole competition course. Golf Australia has acknowledged the move and all players will be able to keep a GA Handicap allowing them to play in competitions.

Alongside this innovative shorter course design will be world-class practice facilities including a Himalayas Putting Course. The new facilities will bring an innovative new golf offer to Sydney.

“The future golf offering will be like no other, with a revitalised golf course and outstanding practice facilities that utilise state of the art technology making it a destination for members and the local community,” said Club General Manager Aaron Vatner.

Construction at Watermark Residences is expected to commence mid 2022 and will take 18 months to complete.
